The font is either a TrueType (.ttf) font or an OpenType® (.otf) font. You have the rights and licenses to use the uploaded fonts. To learn more about how Creative Cloud manages the fonts you upload, see Font usage and rights. Improved font handling in Photoshop Adobe Photoshop CC tutorials. CC2015 added more control with a drop down for font classes, and we can select just TypeKit fonts, and perhaps the most useful filter of all, we can now mark fonts as favourites, and filter the list to just show those. So not such a terrible situation. Once the fonts are reinstalled, they will show up as usual in all your font menus. We recommend keeping Creative Cloud software up to date for the best font experience. Learn more about reinstalling fonts that are no longer in use. The font features simple, easy to read letters which will be appropriate for any image. Mac OS X has native support for Type 1 and OpenType fonts, which can be installed just like other font type on OS X. However, fonts installed in OS X system locations are not available to “Classic” applications (see section below). Fonts installed in the OS X native environment can be accessed by (a) any user or (b) just by an individual user.
Can someone please give me step by step directions for how to make the fonts work?
MDGothicaWed, 20 Feb 2013 17:29:05 +0100Download your font.
Open Windows Explorer and go to your C: drive.
Open Windows folder.
Open Fonts folder.
Drag and drop downloaded fonts into the Fonts folder.
That should do it!

For Mac: First you must extract the any TTF-file or OTF-file from the downloaded ZIP-file to anywhere on your computer. Then double-click the TTF-file > 'Install font' button. I hope this helps.

@Amber For Android you can try using the MyFont app. Installing system wide fonts as with Windows or OSX does not work out of the box, unless you root your phone. Rooting a phone just to use custom fonts doesn't seem worth the possible trouble though, if you ask me.

Ashley Erin GardnerWed, 22 Oct 2014 05:55:33 +0200I can't open these fonts on my kindle! Anyone know how I can?

I have no experience with Kindle and I am not sure if it sounds like such a gook idea. Using Google I found two methods:
One requires the kindle to be jailbroken which I absolutely can not recommend:
http://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kindle_Font_Hack_for_all_2.x,_3.x_and_4.x_Kindles
Method two requires the installation of extra software, which seems to be less harmful:
http://blog.the-ebook-reader.com/2012/01/06/kindle-ereaders-how-to-change-font-type-for-all-ebooks-no-hacks/
Please be cautious though and reconsider if you really want new fonts for your Kindle.

I'm completely stuck on how make the fonts work after you drag the fonts to the font folder. What do you do after that?

Keri Turley BeirdneauThu, 07 Sep 2017 23:45:41 +0200Yeah, I'm lost. Where do I find Windows Explorer? And where do I find the C:/ drive?
debnair408Thu, 19 Oct 2017 23:34:56 +0200I came here looking for answers as well, and none of these suggestions worked for me. But I did eventually figure out that if I opened (double-clicked) the file name, it opened up a box with all different sizes of the fonts and at the top of the page it said 'Install.' I clicked that, and it showed up in the font list!
Good luck!

Help! I'm using my Samsung Chromebook to make address labels and downloaded a font here, but have no idea how to get it into google docs:( I can get as far as the ttf file and my options are to 'select an app to open the file' no app found.

@krissysmath taken from http://www.dummies.com/computers/pcs/chromebook-change-fonts-in-your-documents/
Installing own fonts doesn't seem possible, but you can access more than just the standard fonts:
CHROMEBOOK: ADD FONTS
1. Click the Font menu in the Edit toolbar.
2. Select More Fonts to add additional fonts.
3. Select the desired fonts by clicking each.
4. Click OK to finish adding the fonts to your Font menu and exit.

how do i do it on a chromebook
Head AdminSchmooveTue, 05 Nov 2019 10:36:09 +0100
Unluckily, Chrome OS doesn't allow you to install fonts locally, like Microsoft Windows or Mac OS X does, unless you put your Chromebook into developer mode, which is not recommended. So installing fonts downloaded from 1001 Fonts is not an option.
Some apps for Chrome OS however allow you to access a pool of predefined fonts:
To use fonts within Google Docs, take a look at the Extensis Fonts add-on.oto1231Mon, 16 Dec 2019 12:13:44 +0100
